Call for Abstracts: PIERS 2025 (April 4-5)

Dear Graduate, and Undergraduate Students,

We are excited to announce the 27th Annual Penn State Interdisciplinary Environmental Research Symposium (PIERS), which will take place on April 4–5, 2025, at the University Park campus!

PIERS is a student-led symposium that brings together researchers from diverse fields related to environmental studies. Graduate and undergraduate students from all institutions are invited to present posters and oral presentations in disciplines such as biology, chemistry, engineering, policy, sociology, and beyond.

In addition to student presentations, the symposium will feature:

  • Science Communication Workshop led by Dr. Rachel Brennan
  • Keynote Addresses by eminent scientists:
    • Dr. Lee Penn, Professor of Chemistry, University of Minnesota Twin Cities
    • Dr. Richard T. Mayes, Senior Chemist and Interim Group Leader, Fuel Cycle Chemical Technology, Oak Ridge National Laboratory
